Wyoming LLC & Business Entity Search
How to look up an LLC, corporation or other business entity registered in Wyoming, and what the state's records can tell you.
How to search for a business in Wyoming
The Wyoming Secretary of State runs Wyoming's official online business search. It is the authoritative place to confirm that a company exists and is in good standing.
- Open the official Wyoming business search.
- Search by the company name without the ending (for example “Acme” instead of “Acme LLC”). If the search allows it, try the entity or file number instead.
- Open the matching record and check its status, formation date and registered agent. Compare the address with what you already know about the company.
Searching the official database is free.

Wyoming's WyoBiz Business Center
The Wyoming Secretary of State provides business searches through WyoBiz. The Business & UCC Center links its online entity filings, annual reports, reinstatements, document search and certificates of good standing. The office handles LLCs, profit and nonprofit corporations, limited partnerships and other registered business forms. For an out-of-state entity, its Wyoming qualification is a separate filing from its formation elsewhere.
Filing Name and Filing ID
The WyoBiz search offers a Filing Name field with Starts With and Contains choices. Choose Starts With when you know the beginning of the filed name, or Contains when you know a word within it. A separate Filing ID field accepts the identifier assigned by the Secretary of State; the displayed example uses a year, a hyphen and nine digits. If you do not know that identifier, the portal directs you to search by business name.
The search page defines good standing as having the paperwork and fees required to form or maintain registration filed and current. It explicitly says this does not endorse the business or assess its products or services. Read this as a filing-office statement when reviewing a result.
Filings, agents and people
The LLC Articles of Organization form asks for the registered agent's name and physical Wyoming address, LLC mailing address, principal office address and an organizer's signature and printed name. It does not contain a required list of LLC members or managers. An organizer signs the formation filing; that field alone does not establish ownership. Review the particular filed documents rather than assuming that every company reports the same people.
The business FAQ provides a route to update corporate officers and directors after an annual report is on file. It also states that the Business Division does not collect EINs. An EIN therefore cannot be obtained from these state records.
Missing records and annual report standing
For a business using a trade name, the business FAQ says Wyoming does not require a DBA registration, although a trade name application can be filed. That limits what an empty name search can establish. For documents absent from a known entity's record, the office directs requests to [email protected].
The business FAQ says an entity becomes delinquent on the second day of the month after its annual report due date. Failure to file within 60 days after the due date leads to administrative dissolution. This is a specific annual report consequence; use the record and filings to identify the reason in an individual case.
Copies and certificates
For plain copies, open History on the entity record and use a PDF icon beside a filing or amendment. If the needed image is absent, request it from the office. Electronic certificates of good standing are free and carry a validation number. A manually signed original or certified copies require the Certified Copy/Certificate Request form linked from the business FAQ; follow its instructions for that separate request.

What a Wyoming business record shows
A state business record usually lists the entity's legal name, its type (for example LLC or corporation), a file or entity number, its current status, the date it was formed or registered, and its registered agent: the person or company that accepts legal documents on its behalf. Depending on the state and the filings, it may also show a principal office address, managers or officers, and past filings such as annual reports.
Many states do not publish the owners (members) of an LLC. If you are trying to find the people behind a company, read how to find out who owns an LLC.
